Our Commitment to Restorative Health
Imago Dei means "image of God". At Imago Dei we believe God created man in His own image. (Gen. 1:27) We view the human body as fearfully and wonderfully made by God with remarkable abilities to recover from illness and thrive. Although we live in a broken world with broken bodies, we are committed to educating patients on the best path to restore their health by uncovering root causes of their disease and empowering them to approach their own wellness through both modern medicine and holistic solutions.

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Benefits of a Membership
An affordable Direct Primary Care Model
01
Unlimited Access to your MD
Tailored care plans designed to meet your family's unique health needs give you same day/next day access to your doctor.
02
Affordable Care
Many patients find their insurance and healthcare costs are significantly reduced using a DPC model combined with a more affordable high-deductible insurance plan for catastrophic events. There is no co-pay per visit for members
03
Continuity of Care
Maintaining and improving your health is not realistic with a 10 minute yearly visit. The DPC model allows us to take our time with each patient to find root problems and solutions.
04
Focus on Restoring Health
The DPC model unchains the doctor from insurance constraints allowing them the time to educate and empower your family with the knowledge to make informed health decisions.
-
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC) and how does it differ from insurance-based practices?Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a patient-centered approach to healthcare that prioritizes the doctor-patient relationship. Unlike traditional insurance-based practices, DPC allows for more personalized care and unhurried visits. At Imago Dei, we dedicate ample time to understand our patients' needs, symptoms, and concerns, ensuring exceptional care without the constraints of insurance requirements. We offer direct communication channels for quick problem resolution and prioritize patient well-being above all else.
-
What about insurance?Imago Dei does not bill any insurance company, including Medicaid or Medicare. While you may use Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds for certain costs, it's advisable to maintain health insurance for services beyond our practice, such as specialist care or emergencies. We recommend evaluating your insurance plan to determine its value and consider high-deductible plans for potential savings.
-
Is there a discount for families or multiple children?Yes. We offer a family rate of $300 per month, for large families, to ensure affordable care for all.
-
My family is generally healthy – how does this benefit us?Our personalized approach ensures you receive tailored care to maintain optimal health. Even for minor concerns, we're here to address them promptly, preventing unnecessary visits elsewhere. In the event of illness or injury, having a doctor who knows your medical history can expedite treatment and potentially save on emergency room visits.
-
What about nights and weekends? While we strive to be available outside regular hours, please allow up to 2-3 hours for a response. For urgent matters, we may schedule office visits or advise seeking immediate care, prioritizing your well-being at all times.
-
Do you offer telemedicine visits?Yes! Many appointments can be conducted remotely, offering convenience and flexibility. We assess each situation individually to determine the suitability of telemedicine.
-
What about vaccinations? We're happy to discuss vaccination options and address any concerns you may have. Vaccinations are not a requirement for membership.
-
We're expecting – can we meet with Dr. Katherine before signing up?Absolutely! Schedule a complimentary meet-and-greet prenatal visit, either in person or virtually, to discuss your needs and preferences.
-
In what States is Dr. Welch licensed?Dr. Welch holds active licenses in Indiana and Michigan.
-
What is Imago Dei planning for the future? We aim to enhance our services by introducing an in-house pharmacy, offering discounted medications and supplements. Additionally, we plan to expand our seminar/webinar offerings, open new locations, and grow our healthcare team to better serve our community's needs.
-
Can I be a patient if I don’t sign up for the membership?Yes, Imago Dei offers consultations at a rate of $300 per hour (telemed or in-person). While we think that membership offers the best to most of our patients, we understand that for some this is not practical, or that some want intermittent consultations regarding the specialty issues that Dr. Katherine addresses. Online enrollment for this is not possible at this time so please call our office or fill out the contact information and we’ll get you scheduled.
-
Do you offer home visits?Sure do! However, the availability may be limited by distance and schedule so no guarantees will be granted. I will prioritize home visits for newborns and patients who have difficulty traveling but need to be seen. Telemedicine is a great option for many others!
-
Our family has a lot of kids, do you offer family discounts?Yes! We welcome large families! We are happy to offer a maximum of $300 per family per month and discounted enrollment fees. We are also happy to work with foster families and other families with special needs. If you would like to discuss options, please contact our office.
-
Is Dr. Katherine a Pediatrician?A clarification: some of you were surprised to learn that I am, in fact, a pediatrician! However, I’ve been caring for adults throughout my career and my pediatric specialty training is well suited to analyzing medical problems and developing solutions for patients (kids at heart!) of all ages.
-
Will you be using an electronic medical record?I will be using Atlas, an electronic medical record system designed for DPC practices. This will ease the communication and keep you, the patient, the center of my attention. I am contracting for outside services so that I can offer discounted laboratory testing, radiology services, and medications at considerable savings.
