One of the most common questions that we get here is about the pricing and membership regarding this direct primary care (DPC) style of practice. There are two ways you can be a patient at Imago Dei. The first is as a member, which gets you access to Dr. Katherine via phone, text, or email 7 days a week and after hours for a low monthly fee of $60. ($60!) The membership includes all in-person or telemedicine visits for any reason (well visits, sick visits, sports physicals, etc.) without an extra co-pay. The membership also includes the cost of routine screening such as rapid strep tests, urine screens, and other basic diagnostic tools. If you need something more invasive, you’ll be charged for the cost of some of the more costly materials used, but not extra for my time. Members also get discounts on neurofeedback sessions.
Â
I choose to have a relatively low rate (compared with other DPC practices) because I don’t think that people should be paying for a lot of services they don’t need, figuring that people would rather pay a fee (transparently explained) as they need it rather than paying for things in a monthly fee
Â
The other way patients can join the practice is on a pay-as-you-go basis. In this way, patients will be charged an hourly rate based on the amount of time I spend with them in the visit as well as any extra time spent regarding patient care (ordering labs, prescriptions, etc.). Many patients choose this route if they don’t anticipate frequent visits, or because they are seeking help with a specific problem and don’t necessarily intend to make Imago Dei their medical home. Non-members still benefit from discounted prices at Pathology Laboratories.
Â
The intent is to make it as flexible as possible to meet your budget and health needs, while allowing you to feel as in charge of your health as you want. By not accepting insurance, government and Big Medicine does not interfere in our doctor-patient relationship. However, I can still order labs, imaging, and medicines as well as make referrals through your insurance.

Hopefully this helps clear up some of your questions about this style of practice. Please do not hesitate to reach out with more questions. Â
